# 30. pick up the tab

Let me pick up the tab this time.
이번에는 제가 계산할께요.

If you pick up the tab, you pay a bill on behalf of a group of people or provide the money that is needed for something (Collins)

 pick up the tab 계산하다.가격을 지불하다
pick up the tab / bill / check 직역하면 계산서를 집어 들겠다라는 뜻입니다. 우리말느낌으로 내가 한턱 낼께요~ Put it on my tab 하면 내 앞으로 계산서 달아 놓으세요라는 의미입니다~

1. My parents always pick up the tab when we eat out.

2. All the staff went out for dinner Our  manager very generously picked up the tab.

3.When people go out to celebrate a birthday in Korea, whoever's birthday it is picks up the tab. 

4. Railway companies  will have to pick up the tab for new safety regulations.

Note:
1.lift someone/something 들어올리다.
I can't pick up the TV because it is too heavy.

2. answer a phone call 전화받다
No one  picked up the phone

3. pick (s.o/ sth) up (s.o/sth) : stop for and take with you 픽업하다. 데리러가다. 맡긴물건을 찾다.
I picked up my jacket from the dry cleaners.
Can you pick me up from school tomorrow?
